I have been a member on the “Hope Housing Board” here in my community of Brainerd/Baxter for the better part of a decade. This board exercises oversight over a grant that Lutheran Social Services administers to address homelessness within our community.
I can speak first-hand to the utmost care that is taken to steward those funds well.
The latest attack on Lutheran social service agencies on X and Truth Social is baseless and wreckless.
These folks who work with and on behalf of the poor don’t deserve such slander.
