While attending Luther College – situated on the eastern edge of Oneota Valley – I grew accustomed to spending long periods of time watching sunsets. Only when someone takes long periods of time to watch a vibrant sunset can one appreciate the vast changes in color and texture that mark a sunset from beginning to end.
At one point I compared notes with an LYE teammate of mine and she told me that her favorite thing to do was to watch for the greens that appear. And so now I do too.
Somewhere along the way, I dubbed myself a “Connoisseur of Sunsets”
Sadly, over the last ten years while I’ve inhabited the forests of Minnesota – I haven’t been able to see sunsets nearly as often. I do hope – with a change in location anticipated – that I’ll be able to take up this practice again.
Here is a short snippet of a Sunset taken while I was gone on retreat near Sedona, Arizona.
Blessings be upon you – wherever you are !!!
