Youth Take the Lead: Shaping the Future of Lord of Life

Last Sunday, our High School Ministry gathered for a special meeting to envision the year ahead. We opened up the floor to our youth, inviting them to share their hopes, dreams, and ideas for our congregation’s High School Ministry.

The conversation was filled with enthusiasm and creativity as our students expressed their desires for a more meaningful and engaging faith experience. They spoke of their longing for deeper connections with God and their peers, as well as their desire to make a positive impact on the world around them.

Inspired by the passage from Jeremiah 29:11-13, the students expressed their trust in God’s plan for their lives and our community. They envisioned a future filled with hope, purpose, and spiritual growth.

To help guide our planning, we provided the students with a blank monthly planner and some suggestions intended to provoke thoughts about we might do. They were encouraged to reflect on God’s calling for their lives and how they could contribute to the ministry.

From the discussion, it became clear that our youth are eager to take partial ownership of their faith journey in partnership with our congregational staff and play an active role in shaping the direction of our High School Ministry.

As we move forward, we will be guided by the insights and ideas shared by our students. We are excited to see what the future holds as we embark on this journey together, seeking God’s guidance and direction every step of the way.
